Why PetIP
Pet food companies need to know what pets actually enjoy in normal homes — not only in controlled settings. A bowl in a busy kitchen tells a different story to a bowl in a test facility.
When owners share honest feedback, brands can improve flavour, nutrition, formats and the products they develop next. Your pet's everyday reaction is the missing piece.
How it works

We email you when a trial suits your dog or cat. You choose whether to take part — every time.

We send you everything
The product and simple instructions arrive at your door. Nothing to buy.

Your pet does the testing at home
Normal routine, normal bowls, normal home — whether you have a dog, a cat or both. Just a few minutes a day.

Tell us what happened
A quick check-in on your phone. What your dog or cat loved, ignored or left behind.
A typical PetIP taste trial — for dogs and cats
Trials are for dogs, cats or both, and can involve different product formats — dry food, wet food or treats. Not every trial is the same: length, format and effort vary, and we always explain the details before you say yes. Here's the shape of a common one.
Two bowls, side by side
You put down two bowls with different foods and let your dog or cat choose. What they go to first, and what they finish, tells us what they prefer.

Cats are famously fussy tasters — which makes their feedback especially valuable. Cat owners are very welcome.
Your pet comes first. Always.
Your pet’s happiness, health and wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do. Our trials are simple, carefully selected activities carried out in the comfort of your own home. You’ll always know what’s being tested, and participation is entirely your choice.
- PetIP trials are simple, non-invasive at-home product tests using ordinary consumer pet products.
- You're told what type of product is being tested before you agree to take part.
- Participation is always optional — decline any trial, or leave the panel, at any time.
- We only recruit pets suited to a specific trial, based on what you tell us at registration.
- You know your pet best. Stop a trial at any point if they lose interest or you're not comfortable.
